Additional Content

Aurignacian deposits from archaeological horizons V and IV are particularly noteworthy among the impressive archaeological deposits from the site. These deposits produced some of the richest Aurignacian assemblages in central Europe and included a dozen examples of early figurative art, scores of diverse organic artefacts , and classically Aurignacian lithic artefacts dating to between 30 000 and 36 000 radiocarbon yr BP (Conard, Grootes & Smith 2004: 198-199).
