<DIV class="twctext"><UL><LI>Born in Bremen on 9th March 1915.</LI><LI>Studied at the Kunsthochschule Bremen, the Kunstakademie Berlin and the Staatliches Schauspielhaus Hamburg.</LI><LI>First engagement in Stendal, 1935-1936.</LI><LI>Afterwards worked as a set manager at several german opera houses.</LI><LI>Wuppertal (1954-1964).</LI><LI>Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf (1964-1980).</LI><LI>Performances at, among others: Deutsche Oper, Berlin; Opernhaus, Zürich; Teatro alla Scale, Mailand; Salzburger Festspiele.</LI><LI>1964-1977 photographic documentation of cave art in France and Spain.</LI><LI>Heinrich Wendel died on 27th March 1980.</LI></UL>Heinrich Wendel had universal interests and was an exceptionally versatile artist who equally felt at home in art, music, philosophy and history.
